I'm seeing a lot of people ask why they're so breathy and shaky. Most idols sound like this, but they rely on the backing track and the pre recording to carry them when they get tired. The reason they sound like this is because it sounds like 75-85% raw, live vocals, which is really refreshing. (As a music industry major in University who has been trained to recognize and operate these kinds of things)

You can hear the backing track for the sustained notes or the notes that hit a little outside their comfort zones, but they are singing over their backing track 75-85% of the time. There are some rookie groups that use more backing vocals because their voices are underdeveloped and don't have much practice supporting their breathing or notes while dancing. But Irene and Seulgi have plenty plenty plenty of practice so it would be kind of disrespectful to their hard work and achievements to be singing with a loud backing track.
